Simple definitions, both visual and verbal, can describe a great many disparate things with the same language. By layering familiar cross-section imagery printed on translucent material, removable cards printed with color, and dictionary definitions that that are mixed and shifted throughout the book, I hoped to create a book about the way we define and label our surroundings. Letterpress printed from polymer plates on mylar, Rives BFK, and Hahnemuhle Copperplate. Contained in a slipcase. 83/4 x 51/4 x 3/4.” Printed in an edition of 45 in 2007.
