ab[landmass] emerged out of a desire to represent change over time. I indicate this change with very simple typographic elements, the letters a and b as well as the deepening chasm of enlarging holes in the book, the absence of the page. The slow trajectory of these holes and text is interrupted by a red spread, a linoleum cut printed on graph paper. I imagined this spread as a present, the current moment in time. It is the only spread that disallows the possibility to see layers of previous or upcoming pages; only the immediate position of the holes is indicated by an inescapable red. Laser printed, letterpress printed, and hand-cut on machine made paper. 8 x 41/2. Printed in an edition of 10 in 2009.
