Biography Prints
This print illustrates the chemical elements in the human body and how each are used in the production of various building materials, textiles and tools. This print is part of a sequence of diagrammatic prints about the chemical composition of the human body, and was produced simultaneously with Biography, an artist’s book from Big Jump Press. Each spread in the book is a diagram describing these elements as they exist in the periodic table, the earth’s crust, a variety of man-made weapons, medicines and tools, sea water, etc. Each element is identified throughout the book/prints as a specific colored rectangle. These diagrams are sometimes difficult to decode, and toward the end are interrupted by blind-stamped organic shapes and pressure printing. Letterpress printed on Arches Text in an edition of 25. 2010
