Biography Prints
This print is part of a sequence of diagrammatic prints about the chemical composition of the human body, and was produced simultaneously with Biography, an artist’s book from Big Jump Press. Each spread in the book is a diagram describing these elements as they exist in the periodic table, the earth’s crust, a variety of man-made weapons, medicines and tools, sea water, etc. Each element is identified throughout the book/prints as a specific colored rectangle. These diagrams are sometimes difficult to decode, and toward the end are interrupted by blind-stamped organic shapes and pressure printing. “You are what is similar to you” appears toward the end of the book, and is intended to reinforce the common nature of our ingredients.
